VGO - Video Game Orchestra has posted on their official Facebook that they're working in the studio with Hitoshi Sakimoto, the composer of Final Fantasy XII. VGO's primary work over the last few years have been Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts titles. Chances are they're working on a rearranging the soundtrack of Final Fantasy XII for a HD Remaster

I never said it definitely was, I just said he's in the US to do stuff around that and that when we interviewed him at E3 he acted as though a FF12 HD was a nice idea but something he's not been asked to be involved with! Key difference. :D

Who should helm a hypothetical HD project anyway? The FFXII team was far from unified with both sides philosophically opposed to each other......

That is the only correct answer.

Minagawa has already confirmed he won't be involved in its development, but would love to play it on PS Vita. Matsuno has already confirmed he won't be returning to finish the scenario. The only person available to make it is Ito. It's for this reason that the game hasn't been made yet, as Ito is busy on whatever he's been working on since FFXII IZJS released (FFXVI).

FFXII HD will come, but at this rate, not until after FFXV releases in Q3/Q4 2016. I personally don't see it releasing until 2017.
