You posted links from the pre-rendered mockup footage as proof that it was in the game? I'm pretty sure Tabata just meant that it was scraped entirely as an idea for the game. Honestly, it seems like it would only be used contextually anyways. There aren't really that many reasons you would need to climb on things unless it was a set piece. Out of all things I was excited about in this game, being able to climb onto things was the least of my concerns. I know everyone has their own opinions, but I think it's kind of ridiculous to be salty over something like that.
As for the anime, none of that stuff was supposed to be in the game. The movie on the other hand, this entire section of the game would have played out in less time than it takes to watch the movie, so I'm glad to have the movie over the game. It really doesn't make sense with the pacing of this game for Noctis to be in Insomnia during the invasion anyways. Look back at the old trailers and you will realize that none of it makes sense. Noctis is somehow in the city where the crystal is but it gets stolen under his own watch and he doesn't die and no one tries to kill him? But, then the antagonists want to kill him anyways...? How does any of this make sense?
It's clear from the E3 trailer in fact that Noctis was likely gone by the time Ardyn and Eldercapt left the citadel anyways given that they are leaving without any fear of being attacked and they comment that the Lucian line needs to be severed. This to me says that Noctis already fled from the city, and that this entire section of the game would be extremely short lived without much substance. The
ONLY thing that we miss out on is being able to drive away from the city while it's under attack. Hover, in return, we get to go back to reclaim the city in an epic battle, so really I don't see it as a loss in any way. Ultimately, the movie choice was made to condense the contents of the XV story into one game, and I'm glad for it. The XIII sequels were a huge fucking mistake, and I don't want XV to last for the rest of this generation like XIII did for the PS3/360...
As for double jump, aerial combat looks better than anything Versus has ever shown, and there was talks of there actually being some form of double jump aerial maneuver actually being in the game as an ability you can buy very far into the tree. Again, this seems like another thing that's pointless.

As for the camera thing, I have no idea what you're going on about... Those sections where the game takes control of Noctis going into the cave were done for the sake of loading... It's kind of obvious if you've ever seen other video games where they do the same thing. You can hide a lot of load times behind events like this. Besides, why does it even matter, he scoots his way through cave walls, what's the actual problem here?
Again, there were far too many to be included in a game. We could grab ledges in Light Returns. The same basic and simple climbing mechanics exist in KH. Saying one team is more competent than the other doesn't make me any less of a fan.
Those games don't have the weighted realistic physics of this game though. It's not like this game wont have elements that involve using verticality and things, you have ladders and you'll likely have areas in the game where your buddies pull you up ledges, etc. None of this seems to really matter, you look at the GIF I just showed you again and you still think that things that don't add much to the gameplay matter in a way that gets you annoyed. You know what annoyed me back in Duscae? When aerial combat wasn't in. When blocking/parrying felt like shit... you know, things that matter to the actual gameplay. Once Platinum Demo came out though, all of that was cleared up and now I don't have any concerns over the gameplay system. I get that you wanted these elements in the game, I don't blame you for them at all... but ultimately it seems like a petty thing to complain about.
