– From what we’ve heard so far, it seems that development of Episode Duscae is doing well. Is that the case?

Tabata: Episode Duscae is doing well in it’s final stages. I’d say progress is at about 80%. Based on the reactions since Tokyo Game Show 2014, we have decided how the demo version will be broken down. All that’s left is optimization in order to make it as good as we can for players. Nevertheless, optimization is actually a fairly troublesome thing to do. (Laughs) Of course, development for the final product is also going well.

They can take whatever amount of time they need. There's no rush.
Actually, there is a rush in a sense. They need this to come out around the time of the Type-0 release. "No rush" is no motivation, you need to be pressured to work hard to do your best not relax and take your time. Do good work and do it in a timely manner.

They can't allow themselves a realease later then 2016 (worldwide). I'd be absolutely shocked if we won't get to play this game by summer 2016. And I'm pretty sure that won't happen cause it doesn't make any sense with their latest PR blowout. You don't give those kind of regular updates if the game is still 2+ more years away from beeing released.

I still think the date will be Mid-Late Spring 2016. Most plausible as Tabata has already said SE has a target release date in mind and that doesn't come till you're far enough.

The demo itself has to hit before E3 or that'll be embarrassing and it looks set for an April release unless something goes terribly wrong.

The rest of the work is polish, I believe that it should be out in time for the release of Type-0.
This game is really moving through the pipes rather decently. Makes late 2015 release for this game more likely. Even though they are working on the demo along with the full version of the game, the demo is still part of the game, therefore the demo isn't really slowing down the full release all that much.

Another Final Fantasy XV demo – for everyone – for free!
Hajime Tabata apologized the confusion behind the Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae announcements. At first, he announced that the playable demo would be included in every Final Fantasy Type-0 HD copy, but then their plans changed and Square Enix decided to only include the demo in the first print edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. As an apology, Tabata-san told that they are planning a free demo for everyone. It will be set in the same location as “The Overture” tech demo and they are creating an extended version of it. However, the plans aren’t finalized yet and this demo won’t be arriving before Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae.

I hope this other demo is released around the same time as the 'Duscae' demo.

I believe it's supposed to be release sometime afterwards, likely around Summer.
Should we start the release date countdown from when this demo is released? I've heard ppl say FF's release 9 months after a demo. If that was true for the Duscae demo the game would release around christmas. But for the second demo that would be around Feb or March 2016 i guess.

I wouldn't mind if the 2nd demo is just that location and allows you to fiddle around with the battle system and enemies.
Thats all i need. Just need a taste. It's great there doing both demo's because I doubt i get type-o early and get the duscae one. Plus we can save our selves from the possible spoilers from the duscae demo.

It's not hitting 2015. I feel Tabata has been pretty clear on that the first half of the game is most complete hence why they're showing it so much. Likely Spring 2016.

I'm expecting Early 2016 announcement at the end of Episode Duscae or at E3.

According to this, ( under google translate lol), Kitase says that they are basically aiming for a 2015 release, but they aren't going to say it officially till they know for sure it will release in 2015.

"Maybe" but I'll take it!

yeah that sounds reasonable even if I don't expect it to release 2015 ( anywhere) I wouldn't completely write the possibility off.
I'm pretty sure they're also aiming a 2016 release for Kingdom Hearts III so the question is here if they really want to release two of their biggest projects in the same fiscal year.

Pretty sure author is just speculating because Kitase mentioned he has another project(s) to announce next year, which I'm personally looking forward to as long as he has a new companion.
